Kuala lumpur: The Higher Education Ministry (MOHE) has emphasized that any decisions regarding the recognition of the United Examination Certificate (UEC) must be grounded in the Federal Constitution, adhering to the Rukun Negara and the National Education Philosophy. Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir stated that such decisions should not be swayed by political pressure or demands from any entity.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr. Zambry maintained that the MADANI Government is steadfast in its commitment to uphold the Malay language as the National Language and the language of knowledge, a fundamental principle that the country cannot compromise. He asserted that this principle should apply universally across all educational streams, ensuring the strengthening of the Malay language's use in Chinese, Tamil, Arabic, English, or international education systems.
Dr. Zambry highlighted that this approach aligns with the Federal Constitution's requirements and the national aspirations for character development and national unity. He further assured that the ministry is dedicated to enhancing the national higher education framework to be more inclusive, progressive, and competitive.
He emphasized that mastering the Malay language would remain a core focus as it is pivotal to technology and knowledge. At the same time, the ministry aims to empower the use of English and other languages, including Mandarin, Tamil, Arabic, and ethnic languages. This initiative seeks to cultivate a multilingual and balanced national talent pool imbued with national values, capable of meeting global challenges and demands.
