UiTM 2030 Strategic Plan Aims to Empower Bumiputera Talent

Accra:Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has launched its Strategic Plan 2030, building on its history of empowering the Bumiputera community through education and economic development. With approximately 200,000 students across 34 campuses, UiTM is one of Malaysia's largest higher education institutions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the new strategic plan aims to ensure UiTM's relevance in the evolving higher education landscape while continuing its role in Bumiputera and national development. The initiative follows the UiTM Strategic Plan 2025, which saw the university achieve 85 percent of its targets, including a notable rise in the QS World University Rankings.

The plan emphasizes impact over traditional key performance indicators, focusing on the tangible difference the university makes to its graduates and the broader community. UiTM aims to increase its graduate employability rate to over 95 percent by 2030 and to double the proportion of graduates who become entrepreneurs to 10 percent.

UiTM is adapting to technological advancements and changing labor market demands by integrating AI into various fields of study and enhancing industry-based learning environments. The plan also outlines a new funding model to reduce reliance on government support, ensuring continued access to education for the Bumiputera community.

The strategic plan highlights the importance of flexibility in education delivery methods, such as work-based learning and micro-credentials, to meet the needs of a rapidly changing workforce. UiTM is committed to developing graduates who are not only skilled and knowledgeable but also ethical and socially responsible, in line with its foundational mission.
