Kuala lumpur: UMNO has expressed its willingness to collaborate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in prosecuting any senior leaders if there is evidence of their involvement in issues related to Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), stated its president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He clarified that he has not received any official information regarding the detention of any senior party leader in this matter.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid emphasized that UMNO's stance is clear: should there be strong evidence supporting prosecution, the party would not hesitate to cooperate with the MACC. However, he stressed that any prosecution must be preceded by a fair and transparent investigation. These remarks were made during a press conference following the launch of the book "13 Propaganda Perang Sun Tzu" at the 2026 UMNO General Assembly.

Reports indicate that another senior UMNO leader is expected to be summoned by the MACC next week to assist in investigations concerning a case linked to the TH Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report. The leader in question, who holds a significant role within UMNO, has been given time to manage matters related to the general assembly, which is scheduled from September 9 to 12.

The development follows the recent legal action against former TH chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, also an UMNO Supreme Council member, who was among three individuals brought to court to face charges and remanded to assist in the ongoing investigations into the TH RCI report.
