UnionPay Signs 11 Cross-Border Payment Cooperation Documents at Global Conference

Shanghai: UnionPay hosted its Global Partners Conference 2025 - Innovations in Open Payments: Sharing Success in Payment Connectivity, marking a significant milestone in the payment industry. On November 28, the conference saw the signing of 11 cross-border payment cooperation documents in Shanghai, China, involving UnionPay and 11 major institutions from around the globe.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the institutions involved in these agreements include prominent entities such as the Bank of China, PayNet from Malaysia, Uzcard and HUMO from Uzbekistan, IPC from Kyrgyzstan, Hong Leong Bank from Malaysia, OCBC Bank from Singapore, Banco do Brasil from Brazil, FonePay from Nepal, and Bluecode from Austria. This collaboration aims to enhance payment connectivity and build a globally connected payment network through the new four-party model.

The conference was attended by representatives from 72 organizations worldwide, including central banks, commercial banks, and payment institutions. These signings were recognized as key achievements of the event, showcasing a broader range of successes in the realm of international payment systems.
