UNRWA Warns of Critical Condition in Gaza’s Health Sector Due to Israeli Offensive

Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has issued a warning that the health sector in the Gaza Strip is in a critical condition as a result of the ongoing Israeli military offensive, as reported by the Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, UNRWA stated that 45% of essential medical supplies are already out of stock, with almost a quarter of the remaining supplies expected to deplete within the next six weeks if current conditions persist. The agency highlighted that stocks of vital medicines and blood products are nearly exhausted, while the demand on the ground remains urgent and continues to rise.

Since March 2, the Israeli military has enforced a closure of Gaza's border crossings, preventing the entry of food, humanitarian aid, medical supplies, and commercial goods. This blockade has significantly worsened the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
