UPHOLDING FEDERALISM ESSENTIAL FOR EFFECTIVE GOVERNANCE IN KELANTAN, SAYS MB

KOTA BHARU, The principles of federalism must continue to be upheld at all levels of government departments and agencies to ensure effective governance for the benefit of Kelantan and its people, Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud said.

He said the state government consistently ensures that all actions are in line with the provisions of the federal constitution to prevent any breaches of power and rights.

‘A mature and harmonious approach to governance has been instilled since the tenure of former Menteri Besar, late Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat. This approach continued under Datuk Ahmad Yakob’s leadership and has been maintained since I was entrusted with leading the state government.

‘We must always maintain strong relationships at the state administration level, among politicians and officials, as well as between state and federal officers. Similarly, the state executive council should have good relations with federal ministers,’ he said.

today, was replying to a question from Mohamad Nasriff Daud @ Daud Yatimee (PAS-Pengkalan Pasir) on the state government’s efforts to establish relations based on a fair federalism concept for the people of Kelantan with the federal government

He said the state government consistently maintains good relations with the federal government, especially in administrative matters, and stressed the importance of ensuring the state administration’s actions follow constitutional principles and comply with existing laws and regulations.
