Petaling jaya: Malaysia's largest homegrown halal pizza chain, US Pizza, marked a major milestone with the launch of its first Ultra Sedap kiosk at Citta Mall on Saturday, Aug 30, reinforcing its mission to make its pizzas more widely accessible.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the kiosk, located at C08 Common Ground on the mall's first floor, reflects US Pizza's commitment to serving innovative and flavourful pizzas to a broad customer base. The kiosk was designed for speed and convenience, catering to the fast-paced lifestyle of modern shoppers, with its strategic location offering quick, satisfying meals amid the mall's bustling environment.
"These innovations highlight US Pizza's expertise in localising flavours, a strength that recently earned the brand recognition from ASEAN Records for creating the most localised pizza varieties (88 variants) by a Malaysian homegrown brand since 1997," the statement read.
The new kiosk format reflects US Pizza's expansion strategy, offering more accessible franchise opportunities by lowering entry barriers for aspiring entrepreneurs to partner with a trusted, scalable brand. As part of its growth strategy, US Pizza plans to open 42 new outlets nationwide in 2025, expanding its footprint in Malaysia while strengthening its presence in regional markets such as Singapore and Indonesia.
The launch was marked by a surprise Merdeka-themed flash mob at Citta Mall, which captivated the shoppers and added a festive touch to the brand's celebration of both national pride and culinary innovation.
Meanwhile, US Pizza Group chief operating officer Deric Yeo expressed delight at launching the first mall kiosk during the Merdeka season, aligning with the brand's mission to make Ultra Sedap pizzas more accessible while honouring Malaysia's culinary heritage. In conjunction with the celebrations, US Pizza introduced two exclusive limited-time flavours inspired by local cuisine, the Nyonya Fish and Sambal Penyet Best pizzas.
'Our new Nyonya Fish and Sambal Penyet pizzas are a testament to our commitment to innovation and local flavour. Additionally, this kiosk model opens doors for future entrepreneurs to join our franchise network with a lower initial investment,' he said.
The Nyonya Fish Pizza is a Peranakan-inspired creation featuring a tangy, savoury sauce paired with tender fish, offering a distinctive sourish profile that pays tribute to traditional Nyonya flavours. The Sambal Penyet Best Pizza, meanwhile, is a boldly spiced option topped with fiery sambal, crafted to satisfy spice lovers with its intense and robust taste.
