UTeM Vice-Chancellor Receives World Women Empowerment Impact Award 2026

Kuala lumpur: Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM): Vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Ts Dr Massila Kamalrudin has earned international recognition after receiving the World Women Empowerment Impact Award 2026 at the World Women Economic and Business Summit (WWEBS) here today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Massila received the trophy and certificate of excellence presented by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow in recognition of her leadership, transformative contributions, and commitment to empowering women and advancing inclusive development in the higher education sector.

The statement from UTeM highlighted that Massila's leadership has contributed to strengthening institutional excellence, expanding industry-academic collaboration, and opening up more opportunities for women to grow as leaders, creators, and agents of change.

The award also acknowledged Massila's role in championing higher education as a catalyst for community empowerment, as well as her continued contributions to women's development at the ASEAN and international levels.

Under her leadership, the university continues to strengthen its position in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), in addition to recording the highest increase in student intake in its history and producing highly skilled graduates to meet the needs of the industry.
