Kuala Lumpur: Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) has once again been recognised for its brand excellence, securing a prestigious gold award in the Education and Learning category at the Putra Brand Awards 2024. The award was received by UTP Corporate Communications senior director Shamsina Shaharun at the Putra Brand Awards ceremony held here last Friday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this achievement marks the university's fourth consecutive win at the esteemed Putra Brand Awards, solidifying its position as a leading brand in Malaysian higher education. UTP, in a statement, noted that as the sole university outside the Klang Valley to achieve this distinction, the gold award win is a testament to the university's strong brand presence and recognition across the nation. The Putra Brand Awards, which are determined by over 50,000 votes, recognise the brands that most appealed to Malaysians.
Meanwhile, UTP vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib highlighted that it is the university's honour to receive the award for the fourth consecutive year. He emphasised that this recognition reflects UTP's commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and impactful research. It also underscores the dedication and hard work of the entire UTP community in providing exceptional learning experiences to students, conducting research that benefits the industry and nation, and producing well-rounded global graduates who lead in their fields.
Dr Mohamed Ibrahim further expressed gratitude to the Malaysian public for their continued support and recognition of UTP's contributions to higher education and national development.
