Vietnam Aims for Rapid Growth with Focus on Sustainability and Inclusivity: PM Chinh

Kuala lumpur: Vietnam aims to pursue rapid economic growth while striving to build a more sustainable and inclusive economy, according to Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. He emphasized the country's focus on fostering global integration and enhancing resilience through more sustainable and effective participation in the international economy.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chinh highlighted the importance of digital transformation as a strategic choice and priority for Vietnam. He stated that a consistent approach in both mindset and action is crucial to align Vietnam's economic connectivity. These remarks were made during the 'Leader Fireside Chat' session, moderated by ASEAN BAC Member for Singapore Rachel Eng, at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ABIS) 2025 held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

The event coincided with the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, which are taking place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Chinh also mentioned that under the leadership of Vietnam's General Secretary of the Communist Party, To Lam, the country is working to enhance digital competence among its citizens. He stressed the need for skilling and reskilling in digital transformation to harness its benefits.

Moreover, Chinh called on ASEAN as a regional bloc to focus on developing governance, institutions, and capacity building. He urged ASEAN nations to share experiences and support each other to create a collective strength that can benefit the entire region. Chinh also participated in the opening ceremony of the Summit, inaugurated by Malaysian Prime Minister and ASEAN Chair 2025 Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Summit, held under Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship with the theme 'Inclusivity and Sustainability,' brought together over 3,000 delegates, including world leaders from more than 30 countries and organizations.
