Shah alam: A viral video that appeared to show the Malaysian flag being flown upside down at a company's premises in Bandar Pinggiran Subang, Shah Alam, has been confirmed by authorities as originating from an incident last year.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sungai Buloh Police chief Supt Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor stated that a review of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the premises over recent days showed that the Malaysian flag was being flown correctly, contradicting the depiction in the viral video. The incident, which actually took place in 2024, involved a newly purchased Malaysian flag being mistakenly put up upside down but was promptly corrected once the error was noticed. The video resurfaced this year after being reshared by a TikTok user.
Police received a report from the company's project manager, who denied the allegations made in the social media post. The project manager clarified the situation, asserting that the flag was only briefly flown incorrectly and that the company took immediate steps to correct the mistake.
