Johor: Seventy tourist buses in Johor have been fitted with promotional wraps featuring the official branding of Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (VM2026) and Visit Johor Year 2026 (VJ2026), as part of a national initiative to boost tourism. Tourism Malaysia Southern Region deputy director Awang Shawal Awang Sulaiman said the vehicle wraps are aimed at reinforcing Malaysia's image as a leading global destination and positioning Johor as a key gateway for Southeast Asian tourists.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this effort is expected to attract more international visitors, particularly to Johor, and to stimulate domestic tourism by encouraging Malaysians to explore the state's many attractions. The wraps have been applied to buses operated by the Muafakat Association of Bus Operators and Drivers, with additional decals to be distributed to other tour buses and vans to broaden the campaign's reach.
Awang Shawal spoke at the official launch of the campaign, held in collaboration with the Johor Muafakat Bus Association at Asyuk Travel and Tour in Pasir Gudang today. The initiative is jointly organised by Tourism Malaysia Southern Region, the Muafakat Association of Bus Operators and Drivers, as well as the Johor office of the Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry (MOTAC).
Awang Shawal expressed confidence that cross-sector collaboration would strengthen the tourism ecosystem and create greater economic opportunities for local communities and industry players. Also present were MOTAC Johor director Norazlin Abu Mutalib and Johor Tourism deputy director Mohd Amin Kadiman.
