Vstecs Bhd Reports Significant 50% Increase in 2Q Net Profit to RM30.31 Million Due to Strong Business Segment Growth

Kuala lumpur: Vstecs Bhd's net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, surged by 50 per cent to RM30.31 million, compared to RM20.17 million in the same period the previous year. This substantial growth was driven by robust performance across all business segments.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the company's revenue for the quarter soared by 31.7 per cent to RM1.08 billion, up from RM818.87 million. The increase in revenue was attributed to higher sales across its three primary business segments: information and communications technology (ICT) distribution, enterprise systems, and ICT services. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Vstecs stated that its ICT distribution revenue rose by 19.6 per cent in all major product categories except consumables, supplies, and tablets. Additionally, enterprise systems revenue saw a 46.2 per cent increase, excluding storage and commercial desktop personal computers, while ICT services revenue grew by RM12 million, primarily due to increased cloud services revenue.

For the first half of the year, Vstecs reported a net profit of RM53.19 million, up from RM37.92 million during the same period in 2025. Revenue for the six-month period climbed to RM2.13 billion from RM1.51 billion previously.

Chief executive officer JH Soong expressed satisfaction with the company's performance, highlighting the strong growth achieved across all business segments despite external challenges. Soong noted ongoing shortages in the global ICT industry, particularly in central processing units and memory chips, which have led to higher component costs and extended lead times. He anticipated these issues to continue in the short to medium term but maintained an optimistic outlook for the industry's long-term growth.

Soong emphasized the company's confidence in overcoming these immediate challenges, citing a strong balance sheet, disciplined execution, and a firm position within the technology ecosystem as key factors supporting future growth opportunities.
