According to BERNAMA News Agency, the warning was issued at 8.50 am, highlighting specific regions in Sarawak such as Betong (Saratok), Sarikei, Mukah (Daro, Matu, Mukah and Dalat), Miri (Beluru and Marudi), Limbang, Kapit (Belaga) and Bintulu (Tatau).

In Sabah, the thunderstorms are expected to affect the Interior regions including Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Membakut, as well as the West Coast areas such as Papar, Penampang, Putatan and Kota Kinabalu. Furthermore, the entire Federal Territory of Labuan is also under the same weather warning.

According to MetMalaysia, the criteria for issuing a warning includes signs of a thunderstorm with a rainfall intensity exceeding 20 millimetres per hour, which is either imminent or expected to last for more than an hour. Residents in the affected areas are urged to stay alert and keep updated by checking the department's official website and social media platforms for the latest information.
