Klang: The demolition operation in Kampung Jawa for the West Coast Expressway (WCE) Section 3 project is under control and proceeding smoothly without any untoward incidents. Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar stated that the local community has shown good cooperation with the police, who have deployed sufficient personnel to maintain order.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Datuk Shazeli Kahar expressed gratitude for the community's cooperation, noting that there have been no arrests and that the police are prepared to ensure the situation remains under control. The operation began this morning and has been conducted peacefully.

Previously, Selangor Housing and Culture Exco Datuk Borhan Aman Shah announced that the Selangor Government agreed to provide an additional two weeks, from November 10 to November 24, for 19 residents of Kampung Jawa to vacate their land for the construction work. On November 3, Borhan mentioned that the state government initially gave the affected residents seven days, until November 10, to vacate following an agreement made in a meeting with the residents and relevant agencies, including WCE and the Selangor Mining Office.

The media had reported that the refusal of 19 landowners to vacate their residences on a 150-metre stretch was the main reason the WCE Highway project, now more than 90 percent complete, was stalled. The WCE Highway is a significant national infrastructure project involving a 233-kilometre network intended to connect Banting, Selangor to Taiping, Perak, and serve as an alternative route to the North-South Expressway (PLUS) to alleviate congestion.
