Kuala terengganu: A welder was crushed to death this morning by an excavator bucket at the breakwater construction site in Pantai Kampung Tanjung, Batu Rakit, here. The incident occurred at approximately 9.48 am, claiming the life of 54-year-old Mohd Rosli Awang from Kampung Alur Limbat, Marang.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuala Terengganu district police chief ACP Azli Mohd Noor provided details about the tragic accident. While Mohd Rosli was engaged in welding the joint connecting the excavator bucket for construction work, the steel bucket unexpectedly tipped over and struck his back. His colleagues acted swiftly, using the excavator to lift the bucket off him.
Despite their prompt response, Mohd Rosli was found unconscious and was immediately transported to the Batu Rakit Health Clinic, where medical personnel pronounced him dead. ACP Azli confirmed that the victim's body was sent to the Sultan Zainal Abidin Hospital's Forensic Unit for a post-mortem examination. Initial investigations at the scene have ruled out any criminal elements in connection with the incident.
