Renggam: A woman was killed while five others were injured in an accident involving a van and a lorry at KM55.1 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) northbound early this morning. Renggam Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) operations commander Shoromi Salih reported that five personnel and a Sitrak fire and rescue vehicle were dispatched to the scene, located 51 kilometers away, upon receiving a report. They arrived at 12.54 am.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the driver of the Toyota van, a woman, was confirmed dead at the scene after becoming trapped in the driver's section. The five passengers in the van, including three children and a disabled man, were injured and removed from the vehicle by members of the public before the firefighters arrived. The male driver of the Isuzu lorry was reported to be safe and uninjured.
