Kuala lumpur: This year's Cobra 10s Rugby Championships, scheduled to take place at Padang Astaka from November 1-2, will feature the debut of the women's and men's veterans' Under-40 categories. Cobra Rugby Club president Darryll Sinnappa announced the inclusion of these new categories as part of their ongoing efforts to promote inclusivity and lifelong engagement in rugby.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Darryll Sinnappa highlighted the growing interest in rugby among women as a key factor in introducing the new categories. He emphasized the importance of diversity within the sport and described the 52nd edition of the Cobra 10s as a rugby festival that offers a comprehensive tournament experience, including veterans, women, men's elite, and juniors.
Additionally, Darryll mentioned that 12 teams from seven countries-Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, Papua New Guinea, and South Africa-will compete in the men's elite category. The Malaysian teams participating in the event include Cobra Rugby Club, KL Tigers, SSTMI Tsunami, MPSJ Knight, Royal Town Warriors, and KRAS Rugby.
