Aichi: National men's wushu exponent Muhammad Danish Aizad Firdaus Chua is pleased with his performance on his Asian Games debut, despite finishing seventh in the men's changquan event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya edition here today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Danish Aizad delivered a composed performance at the Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall, scoring 9.700 points from the judges. This score ended his hopes of delivering Malaysia's first medal at the Asiad. However, the Penang-born exponent emphasized that the outcome was determined by the judges, and he focused on delivering his best performance.

Danish Aizad stated, "Today was one of my calmest performances. Asiad is a high-intensity competition, so I wasn't expecting much. I just hoped I would not make any mistakes and could put in a good performance. My two months of training in China paid off. What I could control was my own performance, and I am satisfied because I was able to give my best today," he said after the competition.

In the event, Macau's Chi Hin Kuong took the gold medal with 9.723 points, while his teammate Song Chi Kuan secured silver with 9.720 points. Indonesia's Seraf Naro Siregar also scored 9.720 points, earning the bronze medal. The national wushu squad has set a target of two medals at the Games, which officially opened yesterday and will run until Oct 4.
