YAPEIM Allocates RM2.7 Million to Aid Flood Victims in Malaysia

Kuantan: The Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YAPEIM) has allocated RM2.7 million for its Flood Aid Programme this year, announced Dr. Zulkifli Hasan, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs). He noted that approximately RM500,000 of the allocated funds have already been distributed to support those affected by the floods. The aid has been provided in the form of essential goods and financial assistance.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr. Zulkifli mentioned that YAPEIM, in collaboration with other agencies, is currently assisting flood victims in Kuantan. This initiative aims to alleviate the burdens faced by the victims. He made these remarks during the Ihsan MADANI Squad (Religious Affairs) Post-Disaster Relief Mission held at Taman Guru.

Dr. Zulkifli further explained that in addition to YAPEIM, several agencies such as the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI), the Yayasan Dakwah Islam Malaysia (YADIM), and Yayasan Taqwa Wilayah Persekutuan are also involved in providing assistance. The aid distributed today reached 300 recipients and included food supplies and essential items like prayer kits, disposable diapers, hygiene kits, blankets, batik sarongs, and pelikat.

Dr. Zulkifli stated that the donations amounted to RM118,000, with the Pahang Islamic Religious Department (JAIP) aiding in the distribution to flood victims in Kuantan. Additionally, he highlighted that the MADANI government has established a robust ecosystem for disaster management, with various government agencies collaborating to support those affected by disasters.

The minister emphasized that initiatives like today's programme enable the government to engage directly with flood victims, allowing a better understanding of their needs.
