YAYASAN PERAK SIGNS MOU WITH LG ELECTRONICS FOR DIGITAL BILLBOARD PROJECT

IPOH, Yayasan Perak, a human capital development agency, today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with LG Electronics (M) Sdn. Bhd through MZK Resources Sdn Bhd for the implementation of the latest technology digital billboard project in the state.

Under this MoU, Yayasan Perak will partner with MZK Resources to develop digital billboard infrastructure, with an investment of RM40 million. The first phase of the project will focus on areas around Ipoh City.

Yayasan Perak’s general manager Dr. Nasreen Khanum Nawab Zadah Khan, alongside LG Electronics managing director, Justin Choi, and MZK Resources chief executive officer, Mohd Zahar Harun, signed the MoU.

Also present to witness the signing was Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, who is also Yayasan Perak chairman.

Nasreen Khanum said this collaboration attracted investment to Perak, bolstering the socio-economic landscape by enhancing business opportunities through digital advertising in line with the latest technological advancements.

his MoU signing brings positive impact and innovation to billboard technology, creating job opportunities for technical and vocational skills in Perak.

“We estimate about 200 job opportunities can be created, particularly for those skilled in technical and vocational fields, supporting the mission of Perak Sejahtera 2030,” she said at the event today.

Through this strategic collaboration, 10 locations, especially in Ipoh, have been identified for the initial phase of digital billboard installation, aimed at attracting the attention of locals and tourists during Visit Perak 2024.

“This platform will also facilitate information sharing, announcements and other relevant content related to Perak, while enhancing local skills through technology transfer and expert collaboration,” she added.

Meanwhile, Justin aims to elevate the aesthetic appeal of Ipoh city with captivating image displays while utilising LG’s latest technology to promote the state’s economic activities, local products and announcements.
