Janda baik: Yayasan Taqwa of the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) has allocated RM50,000 to upgrade Surau At-Taqwa in Kampung Chemperoh, Janda Baik, Pahang. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar stated that the funds would be utilized for repair works at the surau for the benefit of the local villagers.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Na'im Mokhtar personally inspected the surau and identified the necessary improvements that will be addressed with this allocation. He expressed hope that the upgrades would make the surau more comfortable and conducive, while also upholding the syiar of Islam in the village.
Earlier, a mock cheque was presented to the surau management as part of the ceremony. During his visit, Mohd Na'im also toured Ma'ahad An-Noer, a centre for higher Islamic and Al-Quran studies founded by Syeikh Muhammad Nuruddin Marbu Al-Banjari Al-Makki.
Mohd Na'im highlighted the significant role the ma'ahad plays in producing Islamic scholars and Quran memorisers, who are valuable assets to the community. In support of these efforts, he approved immediate assistance of RM20,000 to aid in the implementation of educational programmes and activities at the ma'ahad.
He expressed hope that this contribution would strengthen Ma'ahad An-Noer's role in educating the younger generation in religious knowledge, fostering appreciation of the Quran, and developing leadership based on Islamic values. Mohd Na'im concluded by stating that this effort aims to be a source of lasting goodness for the ummah and the well-being of the country.
