Kuala lumpur: Yinson Holdings Bhd's share price experienced a 2.25 percent decline at midday, following reports of a potential takeover involving the company's founder, the Lim family, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), and MISC Bhd. As of 12.18 pm, the shares dropped by five sen, settling at RM2.17, with approximately 7.92 million shares being traded.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the aforementioned parties are reportedly forming a consortium with plans to take Yinson Holdings private. The deal could potentially value the oil and gas company at about US$1.7 billion (RM6.86 billion). The consortium is said to be preparing to submit an indicative offer, proposing a price of around RM2.35 per share.
