Kuala lumpur: A young gymnastics team from Bagan Datuk made history by winning six gold, six silver, and five bronze medals at the AG Little Gym Challenge Cup Selangor 2026, which took place in Kajang on August 1.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk, shared the good news in a Facebook post while expressing immense pride in the athletes' achievements. He stated, "Alhamdulillah, I am very proud to be informed that the children of Bagan Datuk have once again brought honour to our district." He emphasized that this achievement demonstrates the potential of Bagan Datuk's youth, not only in academics but also in sports, given the right opportunities, guidance, and support.

Ahmad Zahid also extended his congratulations and praise to all the athletes, coaches, parents, and the entire team who worked tirelessly to yield such a success. Meanwhile, the Bagan Datuk Generasi Muda Gymnastics Club also shared the success on their Facebook page, praising the gymnasts for their performances, determination, and perseverance. They acknowledged that each medal reflects hard work, discipline, and countless hours of training, encouraging the athletes to continue striving for excellence.
