Mersing: Two families in Mersing district hit by hardship after one of their homes was hit by an express bus and the other burned due to a short circuit received aid to repair their homes from Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor (YSIJ).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Foundation chief executive officer Mohd Anizam Jamian presented the keys to the repaired homes to the two recipients, Alim Mahroji and Zuraidi Abd Razak, at a handover ceremony witnessed by Mersing district officer Jamil Hasni Abdullah.
Alim, 35, told the Johor Royal Press Office after the ceremony that he was very grateful that his home was rebuilt after an express bus plowed into it in April. 'Initially, I was at a loss when I saw the condition of my house, and both my cars were also destroyed. with my income as a security guard, the cost of repairs would be huge. So I was greatly relieved when YSIJ stepped up to assist. This is really such a miracle to our family, what more with my wife giving birth to our fourth child days after the incident happened,' he shared.
Zuraidi, 35, whose house was burnt down due to a short circuit in August last year, also expressed his gratitude and said that his entire family would be able to appreciate a much more comfortable home now.
YSIJ also presented 500 food baskets to residents in Padang Endau subdistrict at Tok Mior multipurpose hall, Kampung Air Tawar, and 500 food baskets to residents from Jemaluang subdistrict at the Kampung Sri Pantai Open Hall.
