YSIJ To Distribute 2,000 Food Baskets In Conjunction With Its 10th Anniversary

Johor: The Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation (YSIJ) will distribute 2,000 food baskets to communities across several districts in Johor in conjunction with the foundation's 10th anniversary.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a post on His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia's official Facebook page today, the initiative reflects the Johor royal institution's continued commitment to assisting the welfare of the people, particularly those in need.

YSIJ chief executive officer Mohd Anizam Jamian said the series of food basket distribution programmes had been carefully planned to ensure that the assistance reaches the targeted recipients identified in each community.

"The implementation of this food basket distribution programme symbolises YSIJ's core mission throughout the past 10 years. From the very beginning, our main focus has been to ease the burden of the Bangsa Johor, and this programme reflects our continued commitment to ensuring that no one in need is left behind," he told the Royal Press Office (RPO).

The first phase of the distribution, involving 1,000 food baskets, was carried out yesterday and today, benefiting recipients in Batu Pahat, Kluang, Johor Bahru and Kulai. The contributions were presented by YSIJ senior manager Shah Reza Md Kanafe to sub-district heads and community representatives.

Each food basket contains essential daily necessities such as rice, cooking oil, sugar and other dry food items, which are expected to help ease recipients' cost of living. According to the Facebook post, since its establishment on July 14, 2016, YSIJ has carried out various assistance programmes covering healthcare, education and humanitarian aid for people throughout Johor.

The next phase of the distribution programme will continue in other districts in the near future according to the scheduled timeline.
