Batu kawan: Immigration FC (IFC) head coach Yusri Che Lah is satisfied with his men's fighting spirit despite the team's 0-3 defeat to Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in the Super League match at Batu Kawan Stadium this evening. He said the team defended well in the early stages, but a mistake towards the end of the first half gave JDT the advantage when they scored just before the break.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Yusri commented that when IFC fell behind, they attempted to limit JDT's scoring by launching counter-attacks. However, a lapse allowed JDT to find the space to add two more goals in the second half. Despite the loss, he expressed pride in his players' full commitment throughout the 90 minutes. Yusri admitted that conceding three goals was unexpected, especially after seven training sessions before the match.
He hoped the defeat would serve as a lesson, while the team's focus now shifts to the upcoming second-round FA Cup clash against Terengganu FC (TFC) scheduled for September 13. With two weeks to prepare, Yusri emphasized the importance of the new import player strengthening the squad and avoiding repeated individual mistakes, which can affect match outcomes. He expressed a desire to score an early goal in Kuala Terengganu.
Meanwhile, JDT head coach Xisco Munoz attributed the victory to his players' hard work and consistency, even amid a hectic schedule. He noted the importance of securing three points, marking the end of a stretch with six games in 20 days. Munoz emphasized the necessity of continued learning and improvement in their playing style.
Earlier, JDT collected maximum points by defeating IFC 0-3 at Batu Kawan Stadium, propelling the Southern Tigers to the top of the league table with 12 points from four matches.
