Kuala lumpur: Yayasan Waqaf Malaysia (YWM) has made history in digital education with the launch of Waqf Go Learning - the first waqf-based learning platform in the country - aimed at expanding access to quality education for primary and secondary school students, especially from B40 families and the asnaf (eligible tithe recipients) group.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this innovative platform, developed in collaboration with ITTV Education Sdn Bhd, offers over 3,000 educational videos aligned with the Ministry of Education (MOE) syllabus. It also includes features such as interactive quizzes and tutor forums.
YWM stated that 10 percent of the subscription collection from the platform would be redirected to the foundation as waqf (endowment) funding, ensuring its sustainability and long-term impact. Additionally, the platform plans to extend access to tahfiz students and persons with disabilities, while introducing the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) module and digital career guidance to prepare students for future employment.
"For a start, 1,000 students have been offered free access to the Waqf Go Learning portal from today, and it is open to those from Year Four to Form Five," YWM added. The foundation urged all parties, including government agencies, State Islamic Religious Councils, and government-linked companies (GLCs), to become strategic partners for Waqf Go Learning, as well as sponsor the asnaf and B40 students, to provide more comprehensive access to education, regardless of race, ethnicity, or religion.
The public can register via the website at golearning.ywm.gov.my, and for more information, they are encouraged to visit www.ywm.gov.my and follow the foundation's official social media channels on Facebook and Instagram.
