Kuala lumpur: After seven years of court proceedings, actress Datin Seri Zizie Izette Abdul Samad was overcome with relief today after the Sessions Court acquitted and discharged her of three charges of abetting in a RM2.8 million corruption case involving investments in Public Mutual Berhad unit trusts.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the 47-year-old actress expressed gratitude for the verdict and thanked the court, her legal team, family, and all those who had stood by her throughout the lengthy legal battle. She emphasized the importance of moving forward and focusing on her responsibilities as a single mother of five children, expressing a desire to leave the past behind.

Reflecting on the seven-year ordeal, Zizie Izette noted the personal hardships she endured, emphasizing that only Allah SWT truly knew the extent of her struggles. She expressed immense relief following the court's decision, shedding light on the emotional toll of the prolonged legal battle.

The actress also shared her emotional thoughts about her late husband, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, wishing he had been present during the verdict. She faced charges of abetting her husband in obtaining cash bribes totaling RM2.8 million. Her husband was acquitted of all charges on January 16 after the prosecution withdrew the case following his death on December 5, 2025.

Earlier today, Judge Rosli Ahmad acquitted and discharged Zizie Izette of all charges, concluding that the defense had successfully raised reasonable doubt over the prosecution's case at the close of the defense stage.
