Makkah: Eleven Malaysian pilgrims have lost their lives in the Holy Land during this year's 1446H/2025M haj season. Among the deceased is Jamaliah Masron, a 68-year-old woman from Kota Tinggi, Johor, who succumbed to a heart attack at the Emergency Clinic at Abraj Al Janadriyah Building on June 9, passing away at 6:05 pm local time.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar confirmed the deaths of the Malaysian pilgrims, expressing the government's and the Pilgrims Fund Board's (TH) sorrow over the losses. TH has been responsible for handling the necessary funeral arrangements, including the funeral prayers at the Grand Mosque and the burial rites in the Holy Land of Makkah.

The minister also stated that the next of kin of the deceased have been notified about the deaths by TH. "We would like to express our condolences to the families of all the deceased and pray that their souls may be blessed and placed among the righteous," he conveyed.

Among the recorded deaths, 10 were attributed to heart attacks, while one pilgrim died due to a bacterial infection and organ failure.
