Kuala lumpur: Twenty-two people were injured, including one man who suffered a serious forehead wound, following a fireworks explosion at Paya Besar near here early today. Kulim police chief Supt Zulkifli Azizan reported that the incident occurred around 12.45 am when a large crowd had gathered along the road to watch fireworks.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, several people were injured after the fireworks exploded unexpectedly. Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene to provide initial treatment before the victims were taken to Kulim Hospital.
Zulkifli detailed that one victim sustained a deep forehead wound measuring about five centimetres, while others suffered minor injuries. He added that the situation was quickly brought under control after the injured were sent for treatment.
