Kuala Lumpur: The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) announced today that 23 local referees have been selected by FIFA's International Referees Panel to be registered as FIFA Referees this year.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the official statement on Facebook from FAM detailed that the FIFA list comprises 19 male officials, including six referees, eight assistant referees, three futsal referees, and two beach soccer referees. Additionally, four female officials have been selected, comprising one referee, two assistant referees, and one futsal referee.
Leading the list of male referees is Mohd Nazmi Nasaruddin, who has been a FIFA referee since 2016. The list also includes Razlan Joffri Ali (since 2018), Tuan Mohd Yaasin Tuan Mohd Hanafiah (since 2020), Usaid Jamal (since 2022), Kamil Zakaria (since 2024), and Izzul Fikri Kamaruzaman, who has been newly listed this year.
The male assistant referees named are Zairul Khalil Tan, Muazi Zainal Abidin, Arif Shamil Abd Rasid, Farhan Abdul Aziz, Shafiq Ahmad Said, Nadziran Aziz, Kesava Raj, and Saharudin Isahak. The futsal referees include Helday Idang, Norafendy Norhayalan, and Faiz Jamaluddin, while the beach soccer referees are Amirul Aizat Lodin and Syahir Shaharul Nizam, both registered since 2023.
The four female referees include Ain Izzaty Zainal as the main referee (since 2024), with Nur Akmal Anuar and Munirah Ha Ali serving as assistant referees, and Atikah Janah as a futsal referee.
The statement further mentioned, "This latest development aligns with Phase 2 of FAM's F:30 Strategic Plan 2023-2026, aimed at producing more FIFA-accredited referees, including female referees."
