Kuala terengganu: A total of 600 police officers and personnel will be deployed to manage traffic flow and maintain public safety during the RXZ Members 7.0 programme at the Gong Badak Motorsport Circuit in Kuala Nerus on Aug 22 and 23. Terengganu police chief Mohd Khairi Khairuddin announced the deployment, highlighting the expected increase in participants this year, which could exceed 100,000 people compared to 60,000 last year.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, officers and personnel will be stationed at selected locations across the state, including Kuala Terengganu, Besut, Marang, Dungun, Setiu, and Kemaman, to prevent congestion that could disrupt daily activities. The Motorcycle Patrol Unit and Mobile Patrol Vehicle Unit will conduct patrols in lodging areas and homestays to ensure safety.
Mohd Khairi noted that last year's RXZ Members 6.0 event saw three fatal accidents involving participants and 89 summonses issued for various offences. Additionally, there were three cases of fraud related to non-existent homestays, resulting in losses totaling RM1,400.
He urged RXZ Members 7.0 participants to adhere to traffic regulations and avoid causing disturbances by making excessive noise in public areas. He also advised participants not to bring prohibited items, assuring that police will continuously monitor the situation.
