72 Indonesians Denied Entry by AKPS Directive

Johor: A total of 72 Indonesian citizens were prohibited from entering the country (Not To Land or NTL) after failing to comply with entry requirements during a screening operation conducted by the Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) at the Pasir Gudang Port, Johor, on Oct 19 and 20.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, AKPS Director-General Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain stated that the operation was initiated based on intelligence received regarding non-compliance with the procedures for entering Malaysia. He noted that the agency's focus is not only on the main entry points, such as Kuala Lumpur International Airport, but also on other entry points across the country.

Mohd Shuhaily further mentioned that AKPS is currently investigating the possibility of 'counter setting' activities at the country's entry points. He urged the public to provide any information they might have, assuring that AKPS would work to verify such reports.

Previously, Mohd Shuhaily highlighted the agency's commitment to combating 'counter setting' activities with enhanced policies and stricter measures. He emphasized that the agency is considering implementing a policy to only accept members with no disciplinary record to ensure robust control over the country's entry points.
