Kuala lumpur: The Department of Agriculture (DOA) has denied issuing any physical government order documents or supply orders outside its official system. In a statement today, the department expressed its serious concern over complaints regarding fraud cases that involve the alleged misuse of its name and officials' positions to produce forged government order documents.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the DOA highlighted that the fraudulent activities were carried out by an irresponsible party employing cunning tactics aimed at deceiving local supplier companies. These companies were misled into providing supplies and services supposedly for departmental programs, resulting in financial losses for at least one supplier company, while no official procurement was authorized by the department.
The department emphasized that such acts constitute a serious crime intended to damage the image and credibility of both the DOA and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security. The DOA reiterated that it does not issue government orders manually or through personal channels, thereby urging all parties involved in procurement to utilize the official e-Procurement (eP) system for all applications.
Furthermore, supplier companies are advised to verify with the DOA before delivering any supplies or services requested by certain parties to prevent similar cases of fraud from occurring in the future.
