Kuala lumpur: Agrobank is poised to sign a series of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with strategic agencies aimed at bolstering collaboration in entrepreneur development, access to financing, and markets in conjunction with the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026. Agrobank group president and chief executive officer Datuk Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin emphasized that these collaborations are designed to open up more opportunities for entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and support the growth of Malaysia's agriculture and agri-food sectors.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Agrobank's involvement as the title sponsor of MAHA 2026 will allow the institution to enhance access to financing and financial advisory services for agri-entrepreneurs and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). "MAHA 2026 provides a space for farmers, entrepreneurs, and industry players to obtain information related to financing, financial management, and digital facilities according to their respective business needs," said Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah in a statement.
Agrobank aims to offer financing facilities ranging from RM1,000 to RM100,000 through the Agrobank x FAMA Farmer Entrepreneur Scheme (MAHA 2026 Special Edition). Additionally, the bank will provide advisory services on halal certification, entrepreneurship training, and Shariah-compliant financing. For gig economy workers, the AgroGig@MAHA 2026 initiative will highlight financing options, while advisory services will assist farmers with account opening and provide information on the Padi Crop Takaful Scheme (STTP) for those without an Agrobank account.
MAHA 2026 is scheduled to take place at the Malaysia Agricultural Expo Park (MAEPS) from August 28 to September 6.
