Nagoya: The Media Centre at Port Messe Nagoya is abuzz with activity as media personnel from various countries arrive ahead of the official opening of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games tomorrow. Journalists, photographers, and broadcasters from Japan and abroad have begun preparations to ensure comprehensive coverage of the Games reaches audiences in their respective countries.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, media personnel have also been familiarising themselves with the facilities provided at the centre, including workspaces, communication amenities, and access to competition-related information. Mohd Khairulhazwan Zulhaimi, a member of Canon Professional Services (CPS) from Canon Malaysia who has been on-site for the past five days, highlighted the growing excitement surrounding the Games.

"My role is to assist photographers who require support with camera-related matters here. The technological facilities provided will help media personnel transmit reports, photographs, and the latest updates to readers and viewers in their respective countries," he stated.

The Media Centre also serves as a meeting point for media personnel from various international organisations, providing opportunities to exchange information and experiences on covering major sporting events. The Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games are expected to bring together more than 15,000 athletes from across Asia to compete in over 400 events.

Malaysia is sending 352 athletes to compete in 30 sports across 156 events, with the national contingent targeting six gold, seven silver, and 20 bronze medals.
