Alderbuck Energy Appoints Sunil Chhaya As VP Of Market Development and Applications Engineering

San diego: Alderbuck Energy, a San Diego-based power infrastructure company, has announced the appointment of Sunil Chhaya as Vice President (VP) of Market Development and Applications Engineering.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chhaya joins Alderbuck from the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and will lead market development and applications engineering for the company's integrated power platform. This includes the Nexus Power Unit medium-voltage solid-state transformer and the PowerVector AI software layer. Chhaya expressed enthusiasm for joining a team with a history of commercializing advanced hardware and a comprehensive understanding of the synergy between power electronics and intelligent systems.

The appointment is a strategic move as Alderbuck transitions its platform from the design phase to field implementation. A pilot program featuring the Nexus Power Unit at the San Diego Supercomputer Center at UC San Diego is planned. This initiative aims to demonstrate the benefits of medium-voltage solid-state conversion in reducing footprint, installation time, and energy losses for high-density AI applications. The pilot project receives funding support from a California Energy Commission initiative, in collaboration with San Diego Gas and Electric, EmeraldAI, and the Good For Others Foundation.

As the demand for power becomes increasingly complex with advancements in AI computing, transport electrification, and distributed resources, Chhaya's role will be pivotal in positioning Alderbuck as a unified system platform. His leadership is expected to integrate power electronics, grid interoperability, and site economics into a cohesive operational model.
