Allianz malaysia: Allianz Malaysia Berhad (Allianz Malaysia), through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm, has continued its collaboration with Kelab Marshal Keselamatan Jalan Raya Kuala Lumpur (RSMC) by organising the 9th Women's Street Crime Awareness Campaign.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the programme, held at the Wisma Huazong YTL Hall in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, benefited 200 women by equipping them with practical safety knowledge, emergency preparedness skills, and greater awareness of personal safety risks, while encouraging them to become advocates for safety within their families and communities.
Designed for women aged 16 and above, the programme focused on raising awareness of street crime and road-related risks through educational talks and practical demonstrations. Participants were exposed to topics including home break-ins, handbag snatching, road scams, stalking, carjacking, accident response, self-defence, and emergency preparedness, as stated in a statement by Allianz Malaysia today.
The programme also introduced a dedicated awareness and dialogue session, complementing the campaign's practical training elements. This enhanced format enabled participants to discuss real-life experiences and safety concerns directly with RSMC experts, who provided practical guidance and actionable solutions to address everyday safety risks.
Allianz Malaysia chief executive officer Sean Wang highlighted the interest shown by community leaders in bringing similar initiatives to their respective neighbourhoods as one of the most encouraging outcomes of this year's programme. "That is exactly the kind of impact we hope to achieve. Success is not measured solely by the number of participants we reach, but by how far the knowledge travels beyond the event itself," he said in the same statement.
Meanwhile, RSMC founder and president Captain K. Balasupramaniam emphasized that street crime awareness was about empowering individuals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed decisions when faced with uncertainty. "Through this programme, we hope participants will leave with practical takeaways that not only enhance their personal safety but also encourage them to become advocates for safety within their families and communities," he stated.
The positive response from participants and the interest shown by community leaders reinforced the programme's objective of translating awareness into action and extending its impact beyond the event itself.
