Alumni donates RM27,000 to Kembara Watan UKM

KUALA LUMPUR, March 23 (Bernama) — The Kembara Watan UKM 2022 programme, which toured seven states in Peninsular Malaysia from March 16 to 21, has collected RM27,000 from 36 alumni members of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

UKM vice-chancellor, Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Ehwan Toriman, said the donation would be channelled to the Special Alumni Endowment Fund, which was one of the signature projects of the Alumni Relations Centre.

“The funds will be used to expand UKM alumni activities, including building a UKM Alumni Complex,” said in a statement today.

According to Mohd Ekhwan, the UKMBikers team, divided into two groups, also presented a contribution of RM500 each to six UKM students who were affected by recent floods.

He hoped Kembara Watan UKM could strengthen ukhuwah (brotherhood) among the alumni members as well as UKM staff and the community service programme would continue to be implemented in the future.

Kembara Watan UKM 2022 programme was jointly organised by the Alumni Relations Centre, Kelab Ukhuwah Kembara Malaysia (UKMBikers), Student Affairs Centre, Pusat Pengajian Citra Universiti, Transformation Centre as well as University-Community and Corporate Communication Centre.
