Melaka: The PKR Youth wing (AMK) has called for the restoration of the monthly Budi MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) fuel quota to its previous level of 300 litres, with a proposed increase to 350 litres for individuals with high mobility needs, contingent on clear usage data.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, AMK chief Muhammad Kamil Ahmad Munim emphasized that the recommendation considers the current lower global oil prices and the nation's fiscal capacity, which he believes allows for an increase in the subsidy quota. Munim clarified that the request is not for unlimited subsidies, but rather for a policy that aligns with the realities of people's lives, asserting that subsidy reform should be coupled with measures that genuinely benefit the populace.

In his policy address at the AMK National Congress held at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh, Munim stated, "If the people are asked to make sacrifices, they have the right to see dividends from those sacrifices." Additionally, he advocated for the strengthening of the Bumiputera empowerment policy to ensure that future generations not only receive protection but also have the ability to become proprietors in key sectors like housing, property, shares, companies, intellectual property, and technology.

Munim stressed the importance of equipping Malay youths with skills in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, green technology, biotechnology, aerospace, engineering, and cybersecurity. "We do not want Malay youths to merely be users of technology created by others. We want them to be creators," he declared.
