Melaka: PKR must have the courage to reflect on its performance following recent state elections instead of blaming voters for its defeats, Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) chief Muhammad Kamil Ahmad Munim said. He emphasized that while election victories boost confidence, defeats should serve as an opportunity for the party to introspect and address its weaknesses, identifying why some people remain unconvinced by the party.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Kamil highlighted the importance of viewing the recent election results with courage. He urged party members not to blame the electorate or express anger towards voters for their choices. "The people do not owe any party their votes; we are the ones who owe the people an explanation," he stated during his policy speech at the AMK National Congress at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh.

Muhammad Kamil also pointed out the need for PKR to counter narratives from certain groups that aim to instill fear among voters by suggesting that the interests of Malays and Islam are under threat under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's leadership. He warned that failing to address public concerns could lead others to fill the void with narratives fueled by fear and suspicion, stressing the necessity for PKR to promote a 'politics of confidence' that ensures the protection of Malay interests and Islam's position within a just and inclusive Malaysia.

"We have a duty to provide better answers to these concerns because if we leave that space empty, others will fill it with fear," Muhammad Kamil added. "If we do not provide confidence, others will sell it through suspicion. Therefore, we must offer something greater, namely a politics of confidence."
