Anwar Calls for Innovative Shift in National Development Planning

Kuala lumpur: National development planning must shift towards a more innovative and dynamic model without relying solely on government allocations, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. In a Facebook post, Anwar highlighted that Malaysia must adapt to an increasingly challenging global geopolitical and economic landscape and can no longer depend on outdated approaches.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar made these remarks while chairing the 50th National Physical Planning Council (MPFN) meeting, which also addressed the latest developments related to the conflict in West Asia. The meeting examined various aspects of national physical planning, emphasizing balanced and sustainable growth, strengthening the local economy, and ensuring optimal and high-impact land use.

Anwar reiterated the MADANI Government's commitment to improving the people's quality of life by providing quality affordable housing, a more efficient mobility system, and fostering a comfortable and sustainable urban environment. He emphasized that national physical development must prioritize the well-being of the people, supported by structured planning and effective implementation.

'Insya-Allah, we will continue to drive Malaysia towards a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient future,' Anwar stated.
