Pahang DOE Issues Two Compounds In Ops Gerak 2026 At Gambang

Gambang: The Department of Environment (DOE) Pahang branch issued two compounds on vehicles during the National Motor Vehicle Operation (Ops Gerak) 2026, at the Gambang entry route here yesterday. Pahang DOE director Zakaria Ahmad @ Mohd stated that the compounds were issued under Regulation 11 of the Environmental Quality (Control of Emissions from Petrol Engines) Regulations 1996.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the operation, conducted from 9pm to 11pm, aims to ensure compliance with environmental laws, particularly on vehicle smoke and gas emissions. Zakaria Ahmad emphasized that Ops Gerak 2026 was carried out in collaboration with the Pahang Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK), the Road Transport Department (JPJ), and the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK), focusing on compliance among motor vehicles and road users.

Zakaria further noted that the DOE would not compromise on environmental law violations and would continue to strengthen enforcement. "This operation sends a clear message that the government is serious in tackling environmental crimes while safeguarding environmental sustainability and public well-being," he said.

Meanwhile, Pahang JPJ deputy director Ahmad Sallehhuddin Mat Nasir reported that 150 vehicles were inspected during the operation, with 20 summonses issued for various offences.
