Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to be discharged from the hospital today after receiving treatment, as stated by his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. Anwar recently underwent a successful elective laparoscopic surgical procedure to address a para-umbilical hernia.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Wan Azizah shared that Anwar expressed gratitude to those who offered prayers for his health and recovery. She relayed his regards and appreciation to everyone concerned about his well-being.

Dr Wan Azizah made these comments while speaking to reporters at the Semarak Merdeka programme, part of the 2026 National Month celebrations held at the Bandar Tun Razak branch of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
