Anwar Urges Malaysians to Guard Unity and Stability Amid Progress

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged all Malaysians to remain vigilant in safeguarding the nation's unity and harmony, which are crucial for maintaining Malaysia's stability. He emphasized that despite the nation's progress, complacency should be avoided to ensure continuous growth.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar highlighted that Malaysia, as a rapidly developing nation attracting global interest, must preserve its stability, unity, and governance. He pointed out that threats to national peace can arise not only from external sources but also from internal discord and envy among the people.

Anwar noted Malaysia's growing recognition in tourism and investment but warned against complacency. He referred to historical lessons, suggesting that no nation can survive if consumed by negligence, a point he stressed during the Prime Minister's Department monthly assembly attended by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.

The prime minister emphasized that Malaysia's peace and stability are fundamental to investor confidence and societal wellbeing. He urged Malaysians not to take these for granted, drawing comparisons with other countries with similar diverse compositions that may appear peaceful but remain unstable.

Anwar underscored the importance of political stability and effective governance in sustaining economic success and public welfare within the MADANI Economy framework. He remarked on the critical nature of governance, suggesting that wealth is ineffective without proper management.

Furthermore, Anwar cautioned political leaders against continuous power struggles, which he believes undermine stability and overburden the public. He reflected on past periods of instability caused by political manoeuvring, urging leaders to focus on the nation's wellbeing rather than internal conflicts.
