Beijing: Atos, a leader in AI-powered digital transformation, announced that a sovereign agentic AI solution has been honoured at the IDC China AI Innovation Awards 2026. The award underscores the impact of enterprise-grade agentic AI in fostering innovation, operational efficiency, and business transformation across various industries.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the award was presented by International Data Corporation (IDC) and recognised the Sovereign AI Agent for Engineering RandD, a collaboration between Atos and manufacturer Flender China, with the Best Agentic AI Practice Award. Atos China Managing Director, Yun Rui Feng, emphasized the company's commitment to accelerating innovation and achieving measurable outcomes at scale as demand for sovereign and responsible AI grows across industries.

Flender China IT Head, Guo Yan Ming, highlighted the solution's ability to expedite knowledge reuse and decision-making, reducing the time from design insight to market-ready innovation, and showcasing the replicability of manufacturing agents in complex knowledge management. The AI agent developed for Flender's engineering RandD function integrates agentic AI, retrieval-augmented generation, multimodal capabilities, and deep manufacturing domain knowledge.

This solution enables engineering teams to quickly transition from concept to market launch, delivering significant business outcomes. Notably, it reduces design standard document and engineering drawing interpretation time by 83 per cent, from approximately 30 minutes to just five minutes. Additionally, it achieves a sixfold increase in engineering design processing capacity, saves approximately 2,000 engineering hours annually, and enhances knowledge reuse, onboarding, and collaboration across engineering teams.
