Avisena Specialist Hospital 2 Marks New Chapter In Specialist Care

Shah alam: Avisena Women's and Children's Specialist Hospital (AWCSH) has been rebranded as Avisena Specialist Hospital 2 (ASH2), marking a significant step in Avisena Healthcare's plan to establish Shah Alam as its flagship hub for integrated specialist healthcare services.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the hospital, which began operations in May 2019, has evolved from a dedicated women's and children's facility into a multidisciplinary hospital offering a wider range of specialist services for patients of all ages. As part of the transformation, ASH2 has introduced eight new specialist services comprising ear, nose and throat (ENT), orthopaedics, internal medicine, general surgery, plastic surgery, urology, ophthalmology, and dermatology.

The hospital will also add 12 specialists to strengthen its integrated and coordinated care. Avisena Healthcare Group chief executive officer Elina Nadia Omar stated that the rebranding marked an important step in strengthening the group's healthcare ecosystem and expanding access to specialist care. Elina emphasized that as a multidisciplinary hospital, ASH2 is expanding its capabilities to provide a wider range of treatments while continuing to focus on women and children, thus enabling them to serve more patients across different age groups while maintaining their core strengths.

In line with its expansion plans, ASH2 will introduce dedicated oncology services this year, including a Women's Cancer Centre to provide holistic, patient-centred care. The centre will strengthen Avisena Healthcare's multidisciplinary women's health ecosystem by offering seamless access to cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, and supportive care. Through close collaboration between specialists, nursing teams, and allied health professionals, the centre aims to deliver coordinated cancer care that supports women at every stage of their journey.

Meanwhile, the new tower at Avisena Specialist Hospital (ASH) is expected to be completed in February 2027, increasing the group's total bed capacity in Shah Alam to 418 and strengthening its position as a leading healthcare hub in the region. Avisena Healthcare is also expanding to Cyberjaya with plans to develop a new Avisena Specialist Hospital, targeted for completion by 2029.
