Seri Menanti:Istana Besar Seri Menanti The Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, accepted the declaration of the installation of Datuk Azrin Khairi as the 17th Undang of Jelebu during a ceremony held at Istana Besar Seri Menanti.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event was attended by Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Aishah Rohani Tengku Besar Mahmud, Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin Tuanku Muhriz, and Tunku Panglima Besar Tunku Zain Al-'Abidin. Azrin and his wife, Datin Norazizan Mamat, were escorted to the palace by over 200 members of the Jelebu customary delegation, along with traditional rebana and kompang performances.

Tuanku Muhriz granted consent for the ceremony, which began with the Orang Empat Istana presenting a ceremonial betel leaf set. Azrin then pledged his loyalty to Tuanku Muhriz before being formally installed with the title Datuk Mendika Menteri Akhirulzaman.

In his address, Tuanku Muhriz emphasized the importance of preserving Jelebu's traditions and heritage. He expressed confidence in Azrin's ability to fulfill his responsibilities with dedication and wisdom, guided by the laws and adat of Negeri Sembilan.

State Secretary Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim and heads of state government departments were also present at the ceremony. Tuanku Muhriz highlighted the significance of loyalty to the Yang Dipertuan Besar and fostering strong ties between customary leaders and the palace.

He called on the community to support adat leadership and ensure that adat affairs are conducted responsibly. Azrin, with 26 years of experience at Telekom Malaysia, holds a Master's and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
