Kuantan: The Ministry of Transport has agreed to revise the BAS.MY Kuantan C64 route to pass in front of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sungai Baging, a move aimed at easing students' daily commute.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the decision came after a viral issue concerning the BAS.MY Kuantan route, which forced students of SK and SMK Sungai Baging to walk approximately 800 metres to the nearest bus stop on the main road. Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, stated on Facebook that he met with representatives of Sanwa Tours (M) Sdn Bhd, the operator of the BAS.MY Kuantan service, and contacted Transport Minister Anthony Loke and the ministry's Secretary-General, Jana Santhiran Muniayan, to resolve the issue.

Ahmad Farhan noted that the meeting aimed to find a solution enabling students of SK and SMK Sungai Baging to access convenient bus services without needing to walk a long distance to the main road. He expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Transport, the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), and Sanwa Tours in safeguarding the welfare of students in the Indera Mahkota area.

He further mentioned that the objective is to ensure the welfare of students at SK and SMK Sungai Baging is protected and that access to education for children in the area is prioritized. Previously, the schools were accessible via Rapid Kuantan, but the route was excluded when BAS.MY Kuantan started operating in December last year.
